Responsible Gambling
Last updated: July 31, 2026
Gambling can be addictive. Betting should always be entertainment with money you can afford to lose — never a source of income and never a way to recover losses. This website is for adults aged 18+ only.
Keep it safe
- Set a budget and a time limit before you start, and stick to both.
- Never chase losses — a losing day is not a debt to recover.
- Do not gamble when stressed, upset or under the influence.
- Balance betting with other activities; it should never be your main pastime.
Use the tools bookmakers provide
Every licensed bookmaker offers responsible gambling tools. Use them proactively:
- Deposit limits — cap how much you can deposit per day, week or month.
- Loss and wager limits — stop automatically when a threshold is reached.
- Reality checks — on-screen reminders of how long you’ve been playing.
- Time-outs — short breaks from 24 hours to 6 weeks.
- Self-exclusion — block your account for months or years. Once activated, self-exclusion cannot be reversed until the period ends.
Warning signs
Consider seeking help if you recognise any of these patterns:
- Betting more than you can afford, or borrowing money to gamble
- Hiding your gambling from family or friends
- Feeling restless or irritable when not betting
- Gambling to escape problems or negative feelings
- Neglecting work, studies or relationships because of betting
